Das Programm basiert auf Vidyamalas eigenen Erfahrungen im Umgang mit chronischen Schmerzen, mit denen sie seit einem Sportunfall (1976) und einem sp\u00e4teren schweren Autounfall lebt.<br \/><br \/>In England ist MBPM bereits im Gesundheitssystem angekommen. Zahlreiche Teilnehmende bewerten das Programm als sehr hilfreich und unterst\u00fctzend im Umgang mit chronischen Schmerzen, bei k\u00f6rperlichen Einschr\u00e4nkungen und auch Ersch\u00f6pfungssymptomen (Fatigue-Syndrom). Wissenschaftliche Studien belegen diese subjektiven Erfolge. Krebspatient*innen profitieren von dem achtsamkeitsbasierten und mitf\u00fchlenden Zugang in diesem Programm.<br \/><br \/>Schmerz, Krankheit oder k\u00f6rperliche Einschr\u00e4nkungen bereiten unangenehme Empfindungen. Die Art, wie wir normalerweise darauf reagieren, f\u00fchrt h\u00e4ufig zu weiteren Problemen und auch zu geistigen, emotionalen und k\u00f6rperlichen Stresssymptomen. Bei MBPM lernen wir, sinnvoller und selbstf\u00fcrsorglicher mit dem Leid umzugehen, den reaktiven Kreislauf zu durchbrechen, ein gr\u00f6\u00dferes Gewahrsein f\u00fcr uns selbst zu erreichen, die
